Introducing a new section in our blog, My Secret Tips. It’s all about that knack you have to entertain all those silly yet innovative and creative ideas, that you may bump into at real odd hours. I too am blessed with this habit of taking serious, every other seemingly nonsensical idea of bringing innovation and improvement to all existing recipes and to create some amazingly unique new stuff.

In this section, I will share with you all, a number of such creative ideas which can make your routine dish taste or appear extraordinary, and tips which will make your recipes yield incredibly tastier results. Here is the first post in this section and many more yet to come.

Have you ever wondered there could be countless tempting ways to enhance the flavours of your mundane cake? Well! Here are 6 lip smacking ways to make your slice of cake taste like a slice of heaven.

1-WARM IT UP

Dark chocolate cakes, the ones with rich ganache filling and frosting are at their best when warmed a bit in the microwave . The ultra soft moist crumb of the cake and the rich chocolate flavour of the frosting are best enhanced and fused when heated up. Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

2-BREAK IT UP

Cut your favourite chocolate cake into bite size pieces. Spread over the base of a dessert bowl, cover with a layer of crushed pretzels or your favourite cookie. Drizzle some generous amount of warm Nutella over it.

3-ADD SOME CRUNCH

Perfect do coffee cakes taste with some praline cream! Use any of your favourite roasted nuts, chopped and added to caramelised sugar, once set, break up the praline into small bits. Fold this praline in some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Serve a slice of any coffee  cake with praline folded cream or ice cream. Drizzle with some caramel sauce

4-MALT IT UP

Chocolate tastes out of this world when combined with malt powder. Warm up some single cream in a saucepan and add drinking malt powder to it as per your taste. When the mixture comes to a boil, add some chopped milk chocolate to it . Whip it up to room temperature . Pour this finger licking good indulgence over any chocolate cake.

5-THE THREE MILK WAY

Whisk together equal portions of condensed milk, evaporated milk and fresh cream. Add few drops of vanilla essence. Soak any butter cake or spongecake with this and serve with some whipped cream. Heaven…!!!

6-FRUIT ON FRUIT

Fruit cakes and fruit flavoured butter cakes taste amazingly great when soaked with some fruit juice. Poke your cake with a skewer and drizzle with the fruit juice of your choice. Refrigerate and continue to drizzle the juice at regular intervals till the cake gets well soaked . You may have this moist juicy fruit delight as it is, chilled or add a scoop of a fruit rich ice cream to it. Simply refreshing!
