Ingredients
- 250 grams chicken boneless chunks
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon all spice powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons oil
- SHAWARMA PICKLES
- 1/2 cup beetroot shreds
- 1/2 cup cucumber shreds
- 1/2 cup green peppers thin sticks
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- FOR QUICK GARLIC SAUCE
- 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1-1/2 tablespoons boiled and minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken powder
- TO ASSEMBLE
- 10-12 bread slices
- A round cookie cutter
Instructions
- Using a cookie cutter cut out rounds from the bread.
- To prepare chicken. Heat oil in a pan and add chicken chunks and fry till it changes colour. Add in garlic and sauté. Next add in red chilli powder, black pepper, cumin, all spice powder, yogurt and salt. Stir fry at high flame for 5 minutes. You can prepare this in big batches and freeze in packets for later use.
- For pickle stir together vinegar, water, salt and sugar. Pour this mixture in separate bowls containing beetroot, cucumber and peppers. Use immediately or place each in air tight jars and store for later use.
- For the sauce blend together oil, chickpeas, cream, mayonnaise, garlic, garlic powder, salt, pepper and chicken powder together. This as well can be stored in a clean jar in the fridge for upto a week.
- To assemble apply some sauce on each bread round. Make a bed of pickled vegetables and place chicken on top
