Ingredients
- CHICKEN MARINATION
- 1 kg boneless chicken cut into 2 inch cubes
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 tablespoons yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon roasted ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken powder
- 3-4 tablespoons
- GRAVY
- 1/4 cup oil
- 4 medium sized or 2-1/2 large onion roughly sliced
- 1-1/2 tablespoons ginger grated
- 1–1/2 tablespoons garlic grated
- 1 teaspoon heaped paprika
- 5-6 medium sized or 4 large sized tomatoes roughly chopped
- 75 grams butter salted
- 1 teaspoon heaped chicken powder
- 1 teaspoon heaped roasted ground coriander
- 1-1/2 teaspoons roasted ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon heaped garam masala
- 1 tablespoon heaped red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red food colour
- 1-1/2 tablespoons tomato purée canned
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon kasori methi crushed in palms.
- 4 tablespoons fresh cream
- Chopped coriander to sprinkle on top
Instructions
- Apply marination ingredients on chicken pieces and spread them on a greased baking tray.
- Place it in the oven for 15 minutes till nice and golden.
- Now heat some oil in a pan and sauté chopped ginger and garlic. Add paprika and then add sliced onions and tomatoes. Stir fry at high flame for two minutes then cover the pan and let cook on medium low flame for 10 minutes till the onions and tomatoes get soft and mushy. Now transfer the contents of the pan to a blender and make a smooth paste.
- In the pan now heat butter with some oil and pour the prepared paste in it. Start stir frying it on high flame and add all the spices and remaining ingredients to it while constantly stir frying. Finally add in the baked chicken pieces. Add in cream and kasori methi. Cover and let simmer on low flame for 5 minutes.
- Serve with some drizzle of cream and blobs of butter.
