A warm satisfying winter dinner. Perfect with fried or garlic rice. Tastes amazing when made with fresh oranges. Another must try recipe this winter:


HOT AND SOUR ORANGE CHICKEN SIZZLER

FOR STIR FRY
  1. 300 grams boneless chicken cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  2. 1-1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  3. 7-8 whole red chillies
  4. 1/4 cup chopped spring onions, both white and green parts
  5. Few drops sesame seed oil
  6. 1-2 drops Orange essential oil
STIR FRY SAUCE
  1. 1/2 cup chicken stock
  2. 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  3. 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  4. 4 tablespoons ketchup
  5. 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  6. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  7. 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  8. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  9. 1/4 cup Chinese chilli sauce
  10. 1-1/2 tablespoons red chilli flakes
  11. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  12. 1 teaspoon chicken stock powder
  13. Salt to taste
  14. 1-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
  2. In a wok heat some oil on high flame and stir fry chicken cubes till tender and white. Remove cooked chicken from the wok.
  3. In the same wok add minced garlic and whole red chillies. Quickly stir fry adding Spring onions to it as well. Now return the cooked chicken to the wok and stir fry along with all the other ingredients for about 30 seconds.
  4. Now stir in the whisked sauce and mix through. As the sauce begins to get thick lower the flame and let simmer for half a minute. Turn off flame and add in few drops of sesame seed oil and orange essential oil.
  5. Carefully serve in a well heated sizzler dish.
