Ingredients
- 2 bread slices (White, Multigrain, French bread whatever you prefer)
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt or more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard paste
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese
- 2 medium sized red onions, diced
- 2-3 green chillies chopped
- 3 tablespoon grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- Dill pickle slices as required
- More sharp cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top
- 1/4 teaspoon mixed Italian seasonings
- FOR AN 8x8 CASSEROLE DISH
- 6 bread slices
- 5 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 50 grams melted butter
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon mustard paste
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 2 large red onions, diced
- 4-5 green chillies, diced
- 1/4 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- Some more grated sharp cheddar to go on top
- 8-10 dill pickle slices
- 1 teaspoon mixed Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Cut the bread slices into small cubes.
- In a mixing bowl whisk together, melted butter, milk, eggs, salt, black pepper, oregano, mustard paste, mayonnaise, cream cheese, diced onions and green chillies.
- Soak the bread cubes in this mixture for two hours.
- Take four greased Ramekins and fill each three forth with the mixture.
- Top each ramekin with some grated sharp cheddar cheese and some chopped cilantro.
- Sprinkle some mixed Italian seasoning and place a dill pickle slice on top of each.
- Bake these days in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes.
