Chocolate-Malt and coffee…isn’t it the most decadent way of having your mousse?

This rich creamy and utterly decadent Mocha Malt Mousse is to die for. Whipping it up for your special someone for a romantic valentine’s dinner is a dream come true. This finger licking good mousse is too tempting to resist. It’s a must feast to indulge in with your loved ones or just to treat yourself to a blissful delight.

I have used Belgian dark chocolate, however you may use whichever chocolate you like. You may add a little milk if your mousse gets too thick.

The whipping cream has to be lightly beaten with a whisk. We do not want heavily whipped cream with stiff peaks so do not use your electric beater in this recipe at all.

Ingredients
  1. 1/2 cup cream
  2. 3 tablespoons melted chocolate milk powder
  3. 1/2 tablespoon instant coffee granules
  4. 200 grams grated dark chocolate
  5. 5-7 tablespoons lightly whipped cream
  6. 2-3 tablespoons milk (if mousse goes too thick)
Instructions
  1. Mix 1/2 cup cream, coffee and chocolate malt powder in a bowl and heat in microwave for 40 seconds.
  2. Pour the hot cream mixture over grated dark chocolate and start whisking. If it gets too thick keep adding a tablespoon of milk at a time till smooth.
  3. Start adding 2 tablespoons of lightly whipped cream to the mousse base and keep whisking. You would need 5 tablespoons cream for the perfect consistency of mousse. If you wish it to be a little more firm then add 2 more tablespoons of cream.
  4. Fill in ramekins or shot glasses. Let chill in the fridge for 2 hours before serving.
