Finally here is a super easy yet rich and indulgent warm dessert for you all. I have rendered the recipe simple beyond measure by using store bought custard mix and cooking it—and then baking it to a rich caramelised goodness. This is not something for the faint hearted—it is something delectably finger licking good with strawberries and crumble that bake with the custard and come out as an exuberant dessert perfect to go with a scope of ice cream or great on its own.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup full fat milk
  2. 1 cup evaporated milk
  3. 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  4. 3 tablespoons Vanilla custard powder slightly heaped
  5. Few drops of vanilla bean extract
  6. 300 grams strawberries, hulled and halved
  7. 3 tablespoons sugar

  1. 1/4 cup flour
  2. 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons castor sugar
  4. Pinch salt
  5. 2 tablespoons cold butter
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan whisk together the three milks along with custard powder and cook on low heat till the custard comes to a boil and is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Continue to whisk while cooking.
  2. In a greased 8x8 glass baking dish pour the custard.
  3. Toss strawberries with 3 tablespoons of sugar and let rest till syrupy.
  4. Pour the strawberries over the custard along with all the juices.
  5. Pop the dish in the oven and let bake at 160°C for 30 minutes.
  6. Now mix together the topping ingredients: the brown and castor sugars and flour and rub cold butter across it to make it look like crumbs. Sprinkle it on top of the baking custard and continue to bake for another 20 minutes.
  7. The custard would get thick, bubbling and golden.
  8. Serve it warm or chilled as per your liking with some whipped cream of even ice cream.
